Chillies at Ladang 2, Inas, Johol, Negeri Sembilan.

Global Agro Diversified Sdn Bhd also used part of the land at Ladang 2, Inas to plant Birds' eye chilli (chili padi). There is a single Rain Shelter situated in the middle of the land. This will be re-positioned to accommodate new rain shelters which will be built when funding is available. Some of the water tanks and other structure will also be re-positioned to arrange the new Rain Shelters systematically.




There are mature chilli plants under the rain shelter which are producing chillies and they are currently being harvested. These plants have been producing chillies in the last 2 months.

When visit was carried out on the 24th. January 2012, this area was full of wild shrub and small trees. The Company has a single rain shelter and also use part of the land to plant birds'eye chillies.

Now the land has been cleared and ready to be used for planting after a tidying-up period which will take another week or so. Rain shelters will be erected on the land and the fertigation system will be installed. During this period, chilli seeds will be sowed and when the Rain shelter has been constructed with the full fertigation system running, the chilli plantation is on business.

At Ladang 1, Kebun 1, when the last visit was done on the 24th. January 2012, all the plants were ready to be harvested.





After about 3 weeks,  on the recent visit to the same Ladang (13th. February 2012), the plants are still producing fresh chillies and the harvest is still on-going.

When the last visit was carried out on the 24th. January 2012, the chilli plants at Ladang 1, Kebun 2 were still at the flowering stage.




During a recent visit made on the 13th. February 2012, all the chilli plants have produced chillies although they were still not ready to be harvested. These chillies will need to wait for a week or two before they are ready to be harvested.

Ladang 1, Kebun 2:  When visit was made on the 24th. January 2012, the chilli plants were at the early stage (about a few weeks old ) and they were hardly 6 inches tall.




During a recent visit to the same ladang (13th. February 2012), the chilli plants have started to produce chilli flowers and small buds. This is within a space of about 3 weeks, the chilli plants have grown from a very small plants right into the flowering stages. From this stage, it will require only 4-5 weeks for the chillies to be harvested.
